Environmental Initiatives

Awareness of Climate Change

 

We consider climate change to be a scientific fact as indicated in the Paris Agreement and the IPCC Sixth Assessment Report. We also recognize that climate change will disrupt natural environments and social structure, which will have a significant impact on our business.

 

 

Initiatives at Individual Properties

 

  • TRANSITION TO LED LIGHTING AND IMPROVED EFFICIENCY

We are considering switching to LED lighting and installing other energy-saving equipment at all properties and create regular opportunities to save energy by improving equipment efficiency.

 

  • CONSIDERING USE OF RENEWABLE ENERGY

Given the increase in procurement costs, we are considering the use of on-site renewable energy as well as procuring renewable energy off-site through 100% renewable energy plan contracts.

 

  • WATER-SAVING MEASURES

We have established a system for monthly monitoring of water usage and are also considering switching to water-saving fixtures when it is time for renewal.

 

  • GREEN LEASES

In our lease agreements, we have made the “Green Lease Clause” standard not only for new leases but for lease renewals as well to work with tenants to reduce environmental impact.
