  • Chief Executive Officer(CEO)

    Hiroyasu Kaizuka

    Kaizuka is CEO of JapanCor, joined the firm in October 2021.
    He has approximately 30 years of experience in the real estate investment and asset management business.
    From March 1999 to November 2013, he worked at Goldman Sachs Realty Japan, where he served as the Head of Asset Management including exit strategy development and disposition for offices, retails, hotels, and residential properties.
    During this time, as a Managing Director, he was responsible for the management of approximately 1,200 properties (total AUM 1.8 trillion yen).
    From November 2013 to November 2017, he was a Managing Director in the Real Estate Investment Department at Goldman Sachs Asset Management, where he oversaw equity marketing, loan arrangement, investment opportunity sourcing, Asset evaluation, acquisition execution, Asset management, investor relations, and exit strategies for private REITs and private funds.
    From December 2017 to September 2021, he served as an Executive Director in Loadstar Capital, overseeing the investment management and crowdfunding businesses.

    Akiko Shimoura

    First-class architect, real estate appraiser

    Shimoura is in charge of JapanCor's Asset management operations.
    Joined the firm in April 2022.
    She has 35 years of experience in the real estate industry (over 20 years in domestic real estate investment, asset management, and property management, and over 10 years in real estate investment and asset management in Australia, North America, and Southeast Asia).
    From February 2005 to July 2014, she worked for LaSalle Investment Management, where she was the executive officer in charge of asset management and was involved in the management of investment real estate worth up to approximately 500 billion yen, including retail, logistics warehouses, offices, hotels, and residential properties, and the sale of approximately 240 billion yen.
    From August 2014 to December 2017, she was seconded to Daiwa House Australia, where she was involved in the residential project acquisition and asset management in Sydney with total sales of approximately 120 billion yen.
    From January 2018 to March 2022, as General Manager of Overseas Business Department of Hoosiers Holdings, she was responsible for sourcing, acquisition execution, and asset management of investment projects in North America and Southeast Asia.

  • Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

    Yohei Takagi

    As COO and CFO, Takagi oversees JapanCor's Federation Departments.
    Joined the firm in April 2022.
    He has over 20 years of experience as a controller in U.S. investment bank-affiliated real estate funds and listed REIT Asset management companies.
    Prior to joining the firm, he worked for GMACCM Japan, Goldman Sachs Realty Japan, Goldman Sachs Asset Management, Japan Hotel REIT Advisors, and MC Digital Realty, where he was engaged in fund accounting for a wide variety of Asset classes including office, residential, retail, hotel, and data centers, as well as the implementation of ERP systems and in-house development projects.

  • Chief Strategy Officer(CSO)

    Hiroaki Shimizu

    Real estate appraiser

    Shimizu oversees Investment Opportunity Sourcing, underwriting, and closing activities related to Asset acquisitions.
    Joined the firm in January 2020.
    He has over 20 years of real estate investment experience.
    Prior to joining the firm, from November 2004 to August 2012, he worked at Goldman Sachs Realty Japan and from September 2012 to December 2019 at Goldman Sachs Asset Management, where he was engaged in real estate and non-performing loans, including office, residential, retail, logistics facilities, hotels, etc.
    Over the 15 years period, he has been involved in the acquisition and management of over 500 billion yen in real estate and fixed income investment projects.
    Prior to Goldman Sachs, he worked for the Japan Real Estate Institute, where he was involved in business activities related to securitized real estate.

    Shigeyuki Mizutani

    ARES Certified Master

    Mizutani oversees the management and business activities of the real estate under management.
    Joined the firm in October 2015.
    He is engaged in property acquisition-related business activities, asset management, and internal administrative activities.
    He began his career at Dai-Ichi Kangyo Bank (currently, Mizuho Bank), and has over 20 years of business activities in structured finance, real estate securitization, and real estate investment and restructuring at financial institutions such as Mitsubishi UFJ Bank and GE Japan.

  • Managing Director

    Tsutomu Yabe

    As the supervisory manager of the Legal and Compliance Department, Yabe oversees legal and compliance activities related to real estate investment and asset management.
    Joined the firm in December 2021.
    Prior to joining the firm, he gained over 17 years of experience in legal business activities related to the acquisition, management, and disposition of office, residential, retail, and hotel properties at Goldman Sachs Realty Japan, Goldman Sachs Asset Management, and Japan Hotel REIT Advisors.
